Project Synopsis
This short stop motion animation features a quirky yet heartfelt story about a lonely penguin with a chipped flipper who stumbles upon a tightly-knit group. The group initially makes fun of and rejects the penguin for having a noticeable ‘flawed’ trait (the flipper), only to realize soon after that each of them have ‘flawed’ traits of their own. Are they ‘flaws,’ or are they actually our true selves?
This project was intended to convey a short story through stop motion and post-production editing. Week 1 involved developing two separate stories, each with their own storyboards. Week 2 involved producing one of those stories, from production to post.
